Need to get creative sometimes.

I had a pole that the chipmunk was climbing, so I put foil on top. He poked thru it.
So, then I use vegetable oil. He would climb, slide down the pole, lick fingers, then he would do it again, until the oil was gone and he could climb.
Then, I mixed hot sauce with the oil. Oh man, he did the same thing and then danced around wildly.... he then walked back over and did it again and again and again until he could climb.

Then, I removed the pole.
