I built a Rat clone kit, and hmmmm...

Damn Asian's counterfeiting everything really get my goat. But I'm getting ahead of myself. So I threw together a point to point boardWP_20170625_001.jpg WP_20170624_007.jpg missing the IC & 2N5457 Jfet. I had ordered an 8 pack of the Jfets which had arrived, but had read on stompbox forums about "fake" Jfets so thought it best to test them. Well you guessed it, all 8 tested way low on output, definitely fake. So now I have ordered a proper, US made Fairchilds Jfet (now obsolete). Waiting for it wont hold me up as I still have to order an enclosure, switchcraft jacks, footswitch & pots. The IC should arrive today or tomorrow. Cheers

Excellent! I've gotta get off my ass, and build some more...It's been too long.
With any luck though, I should have an amp project to do next month.:fingersx:
 
Ok, so these arived this morningWP_20170627_001.jpg sorry for the crappy phone pic. Everything else is ordered & on its way. I'll post a pic or two when its completed. That really was inspirational tone you posted Don. Cheers
