Although I really don't have the space for it I ordered a Pelham Blue 2017 SG Standard. I have wanted a Pelham Blue SG for as long as I can remember and I just couldn't resist any longer with the 2017 specs. I will post pics when it arrives, but just thought I would mention that I can't seem to stay on the wagon.
 
Congrats. I've toyed with the idea of selling my strat to get one. I really like specs and the blue too.

Way to go!!
 
Nawwwww, it was the Borg! They assimilated you. And you had to assimilate that instrument. That's the way I see it. Tell the little woman (yes I said it that way) to just accept it and go on.o_O And play the he'll outta that SG and enjoy it!

Don't worry. If you are like me, soon spacial limitations will cure your gas. I wish I was kidding....The Les Paul Custom serves as hat stand in one corner, an SG in the other sporting a lampshade..............

Yeah, I do think this is going to cure it for a while - I am not going to part with any of the guitars I currently own, and this one is going to take up the last little bit of available space, and I will have to move something else to make room for it as it is.

It's here. At work so really have not had a chance to evaluate it yet, but initial impressions are:
- My god, Gibson has upped its game with fit and finish. It is immaculately turned out.
- The rolled fretboard edges are no gimmick. They feel really, really nice.
- Set up is perfect right out of the box, and get this: it was still in tune! About a half step flat across the board but in tune after shipping from MS to CA.
- Weight is perfect. I don't have an accurate scale here but experience tells me its just a spot over 6lbs. Perfect.
- Thank you Gibson for finally putting some modern tuners on an SG.

I'll find out how it sounds this weekend. I had an SG once with '57's in it and it was killer so expecting more of the same.
 
I'll snag more pics when I have an opportunity. It is nicer than expected.

Yes, Canadian case. My '16 LP Trad came with a Costa Rican case, just as nice really but the interior and exterior colors are different.

I should mention for those that have not played a '17 yet - the binding is blinding, pure white. Not cream in any way, very stark looking. Surprised me a bit but the lacquer will yellow over it nicely.
