It ain’t the first time I’ve seen marketing like this.

The rear of the headstock on my Washburn says it has the Buzz Feiten tuning system. But, I’m not sure it has it.

Yup. I’ve read the same stats. But, it’s pretty obvious from the gauges that my fretboard is a consistent 12” radius. Actually, I’m cool with that. I think I have a couple of high frets toward the body. Knowing I have a straight 12” radius actually makes me think I may go ahead and get the Stew-Mac 12” radius leveling beam and do a full-up fret level, after all.
 
BUT -- we can not allow this LIE to continue to perpetrate on the populace! -- it is OUR DUTY to make this RIGHT-- (and make some PROFIT man) -- Jackson----and FENDER (MOTHER LOAD!!!!!!!) MUST be made to pay for this egregious sham forced on the unsuspecting-- trusting guitar buying YOUTH OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RAY -- put me on the stand I will have them whipping out the check book to make this right in MINUTES---I feel so deceived I cant function -- I am going to lose my job -- my 500 pets will starve--- the WHOLE FARM WILL DIE!

The “compound radius” fretboard on my Jackson isn’t.

It’s a plain ol’ 12 inch radius board...stem to stern.

Actually, I’m not disappointed. It’ll make it easier to do a fret leveling, if I ever need to.

Did you just check the fretboard radius? Or did you also check the actual radius that has been dressed in to the frets?

Edit: nice score! Those are great tools for setting up Strat bridges, and stuff!

I decided to double-check my Jackson’s radius, just in case I wasn’t seeing things right.

Nope. I was right the first time.

It’s a 12” radius board and fret job. The string radius is 12”, too.
 
I am intrigued; I must procure this strange and magical tool.
(I am Remindsded of Richard Salwitz, of J. Geils band.)
The one I have is not suitable for this job, sure as hell wont do 12".

When I read the title, I thought you were going to say that you discovered Single Coils are actually of the devil...
 
Ha.... I just checked the fretboard on the Warmoth neck on my Strat. Specs list this neck as a 10" to 16" compound radius. I just checked with my set of understring gauges. Definitely starts off at 10 " and it definitely finishes at 14" between the 21st and 22nd fret.
