Howdy from Tejas

Just found out about this forum from a post on Strat Talk.

I'm a Strat freak first and foremost, but I have a lot of other guitars. My second favorite are Fender-style offsets.

At some point, I want to get a Gretsch and an SG.

Welcome.

I second your wish for a Gretsch and an SG. Gretsch is a great guitar, as is the SG. I have two SGs and a Gretsch. I enjoy them very much.

By the way, this is not just a guitar forum, it is a music forum. So, if you happen to have musical interests besides guitar, feel free to post about them.

I think I may know this amigo from way back on a vibrant forum that suffered a bad deal via new ownership. Many members migrated to new digs, but it was never the same and a ton of forum history and lore was lost. I believe I first joined here as things got rocky there ... we were seeking similar-flavored backup communities, and I felt TTR had a nice mix of being smaller, more "loose" and super welcoming.

If this is 'ol "pesky" like I suspect, he's a fine player and colorful personality.

Either way... welcome to TTR and like smitty says TTR has plenty of knowledge dudes on gear, but it's also a guitarist "Lifestyle" brand too. I'm working hard on that!

:welcomettr:

As Smitty said. We do more than just guitars and music here. We like to talk about food…. Like grilling and pizzas… talk about cars…. Our pets, especially our dogs and cats. Pretty sure one of our FL members had a pet alligator at one time.

We do seem to have an issue staying on topic. I believe the record for a derailment was either the 2nd or 3rd post of the thread… BY THE OP!!! That one was hilarious.

Dude,
what is that lake placid blue guitar?
A Fender body with P90 PUs, ABR-1 bridge, Fender tailpiece?
Did you build that?1742916514628.png

That guitar in question is probably an SX model called the "Liquid"
came in many colours and configurations.
A favourite of the old Agile Guitar forum.

they were widely available at Rondo music, often for less than $100

@Guitarista always happy to reunite with W-H clan members. I know you and I had some fun in the past. I honestly can't get that co-worker gift tale you told so many years ago out of my head. Chuckling here just thinking sbout it.

Sounds like the old ETSG site that many of us migrated from. Especially the founders who had bailed on that site to start this one.
