Howdy! ETSG Buddies Brought Me Here!

Ya never know what to expect at a MOTM … first one everybody's looking at me funny, which is a usual occurrence anyway, and Adrian goes " do yo know who this is? " I answer yes , it was someone from ETSG who was a real pain in the keister to have to moderate due to inane stupid reasons or displaced aggressions ( I actually never figured it out, n even so, I had no ill will toward him at all and couldn't understand why anyone would th
in
k that, if they even did. ( btw if what you've just read seems odd, REMERBER, it's not called MOTM fer nuttin! ) So after a pint or so off to this music store, in Tampa, that was better than any Sam's Ash or WallyWorldCenter, , and there's a doozy of a Sam's Ash in Clearwater you got to see to believe! Well, I was genuinely taken aback at how much better this store was in every way than those two other Box stores. Finally at the store I got to talking to him alone about the feasibility of a Gtr build he was planning, me, I been doing this gtr , amp, effects and speaker stuff since I was 12 so I asked him some intense questions about it, maybe he was surprised, I don't know …. after 15 minutes intense discussion I said it sounds like you covered everything pretty well and we parted ways to deeper corners of the store.

Second one was an adventure in traffic almost 1/2 way across FloriDuh, but worth it as I met you and the rest of the guys. After a few pints of suds it was fun to go outside Ford's Garage and trade guitars … AD brought his LP Recording which was interesting, I think I brought a 65' strat and Chilli bought 3 ? SG's and had a story/plan for each toothsome tidbit. I never had to force the 65 strat on anybody but I could sense no one wanted to put a " mystery dent " on it so, if you recall , I said don't worry just pick it up and play it ….. for gods sake!

At any of the MOTM's I immediately felt the kinship and brotherhood as well, kind of expected it anyway since I knew everyone from TTR and the other forum. Same thing when I met up W/Tony at a gtr show on Long Island, almost as if I knew him my whole life too. But Quirky is a good trait since you can come up with some off the beaten path ideas to see if they yield any interesting sounds!

It takes a long time to get used to that 3 1/2 " body on the jazz boxes, but it sure makes the Gretsch 6120's seem smaller that it really is , and comfortable!

I had an EPI ES 175 for awhile. The body depth never bothered me, it is the giant EPI head stocks that make me feel like I need a GPS to find the tuning machines that did. Glad they made the Les Pauls with the small Epi ones.

I also played a 175, and everything else I could get my hands on, bout mid 70's . That was because I had seen both Steve Howe and Joe pass using em and figured I might as well play one too.

That is he, and he's so harmonically advanced, and Charlie Parker like single notes w/ Ron Carter bass lines all at the same time! I don't expect anyone to be into him but it's just that Quirk thingy o_O
