As I've been attempting to find my Photobucket image links to recreate, I began wondering for a simpler way to find them, rather than just browsing through different threads.
That's when I recalled...a link to Photobucket, or anywhere else, is just text of an address. When that address is combined with the appropriate HTML tags, your browser understands that it is to display the image at that address, not just link to it.
The point is, you can search for an image solely by knowing its address.
If you find one of the Photobucket Dial of Death images that has replaced an image you posted to the forum, you can determine the address of the original image. Just hover your cursor over the image. At the bottom of your computer screen a small banner should appear, showing the original image's address.
If you do a search on the forum for the part of the web address (URL) beginning with the photobucket.com domain up to and including your Photobucket user name, the search will return all the posts where you've made a Photobucket link.
For example, for me, if I go to the advanced search function on TTR, and enter photobucket.com/user/smitty_p/ and if I enter my TTR user name (smitty_p) in the "Posted by Member" field, the search will find every post on the forum with a link to an image I've put on Photobucket. Then it's just a matter of going to that post and entering the new link for the image.
BTW, make sure you do not have the "Search this Forum Only" box checked.
