As I mentioned in another thread, I wanted to post this one to honor one of my favorite bass players. Robert DeLeo. His chops are so tasty, and drove STP to many incredible kick azz songs.
Just Listen to his smooth delivery. No tapping and poppin here, just SEX on a bass. AS a side note, I really really miss Scott Weiland.

Hail Freakin YEAH Robert!!!!

Another thing I like about Robert's playing is he can be tasty and smooth on some songs, and yet like on Dead and Bloated his tone is super deep, driving and powerful.

Other than Vaseline,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I am pretty sure this is the SONG that put STP and Robert's playing on my radar when I first heard them.
First is the Official version, 2nd is the show I actually attended that seared their bad selves in my memory forever.

When STP slowed it down to play Days of the Week and Sour Girl, I couldn't help but enjoy the songs, but also knew they were smart to slow it down as it was nearly 100 degrees that day. Robert's bass lines are so perfect and so STP. I definitely think he is a master bass player and musician /song writer.

So -- I take it you like this band then?
---I used STP fuel treatment last week--- not sure if it actually DOES anything but it was 1.00 so I figured --- cant hurt ;)

Umm DUH< ESGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Did YOU see that SEA of people at that festival I was at that they headlined and brought down the house and had the whole 60000+ people like a giant Free for ALL?
The energy and vibe can only be understood when experiencing it firsthand. To think of a more perfect scenario for even a 36 year old lifelong rocker like me to be able to experience one of the most influential bands plus about 5 other bands such as LIVE, Incubus, Staind, Tantric, Deftones, and Oleander it was all worth sunburn, 100 degree temps that had to soar to a good 120+ in the confines of the people pressing shoulder to shoulder. Heck, it was so hot, at one point, they used fire hoses to spray the crowd, I didn't care where that water came from, we all opened our mouths to get any little drops that might fall in. HAHA

HAHA I just had to add this video even though I led off with a portion of it in this thread.

What a Master of music. The man says he was influenced by songs he heard via his older siblings, then listen to him open up at about 14 minutes on how he didn't fit in. He had widely varied tastes. I am much the same regarding all the types of music I like and the players who created every piece. I can't wait to listen to more of his 1hour+ presentation.
