So, today I will be playing through the new "house amp" at our rehearsal studio - Marshall AVT50 Half Stack.

Last Weekend, I repaired the reverb tank and fitted a Genelex B759 Gold Lion in place of the original 2005 date coded Marshall white letter tube.

The switch will afford me to stop lugging my DSL40C's to every rehearsal and came about as the result of our lead guitarist getting his Carvin Full Stack back into operation...

I've played through an AVT 50, don't flame me, but I thought it had a great clean shimmer.

Now my opinion on the dirty channel....... bring a pedal lol. Just imo, totally worthless, ymmv.

But, a great clean channel.

I have this-------------
MArshalll1.jpg
was playing it earlier -- with the Peavey Mantis-----
it was like a time machine back to 1985 hair band metal tone-----

VS20 made in Britain .....(says so on the back) its one of the FIRST Valvestates and -- it has NO VALVE-- (no kidding) all SS -- (cheeky monkeys) --
but oh MAN it sounds SOOOOOO good-- the cleans -- meah
the full gain everything dimed tone is chugfest heaven

Goid observations. The red channel is totally transformed by the Genelex B759 Gold Lion.

I set the gain at 10am and sock it with my TS-9, but the B759 will yield as much gain as you could ever want.
