Hotel California Solo Warmup Exercise:

Inspector #20

Ambassador of Tone
Fallen Star
Country flag
Just a short clip of my warmup on Hotel California...

Played on my 2005 Schechter C1 Hellraiser through 1997 Marshall VS265 with no effects other than a Boss DD-3 for delay.

Very curious to get your input on the tone....

I tend to push up on vibrato, as my hand stays connected in the same angle relative to the neck, while doing so. I tend to twist my hand down and out, if I'm pulling down. But mostly, big strings will get pulled and thin ones pushed.

If you had never brought up the topic. I would never have thought of dissecting that part of stretching strings. I just play like I play because that's what feels comfortable to me I guess.
Who knows ?
