Hopes, wishes and resolutions for the new year.

So, it's the end of one year and the start of a new one. What do you hope the year will bring?

Apart from the world peace and an end to all poverty, war and suffering things, these are my personal hopes and wishes:

I hope I'll have the opportunity to take my family on a trip back to Australia this summer. I've saved up for the trip, but my wife might have a back operation sometime within the next months, so it is a bit up in the air. If we don't make it this year, we'll definitely go next year though. Where we'll end up is yet to be decided, but Hobart and Melbourne are definite stops (my brother-in-law's parents and sister live in Hobart and Melbourne, respectively). Me and my wife went to Oz back in 2003, and we spent about a week in Adelaide. We had a fantastic time there, so I'd love to go back there as well. The country is just too damn big!

i hope I get to play a lot more with my band in 2018. 2017 was a pretty bad year in that respect. Nobody had the time to play gigs or practice, so we only met up ONCE in the whole year. For 2018 we have three gigs lined up so far, so I hope we'll do better than in 2017.

But the most important thing I have promised myself is that I'll spend less time worrying about things. Life is just too short for that. I want to spend as much time as possible with family and friends, and enjoy life to the max. I've had more than a week off from work so far during Christmas, and all of the time has been spent with my family. I have loved every second of it.

Take care, everybody. Best wishes.

Great Resolutions you have there for 2018 Gahr. I hope they all come true!!!! --I hope the wifes surgery is painless and successful!!

LEts me....see.....resolutions... hhhmmmm.......I could come up with a dozen or so.......
stop murdering prostitutes
stop buying gear I dont need
stop bugging Drumoid to fix the crap I break
stop telling Ray he is a narrow minded horses butt ;) (love ya Ray)
stop calling Gasket a Wanker (that will never happen)

in light of the surgeries ---home disasters-- mecahnical failures and a direct hit from Hurricane Irma I am just truly blessed to have survived 2017!

I just hope the kids and family are healthy and happy and I get TOO 2019 hopefully with a few less battle scars and grey hairs than where endoured in 2017.....and that TTR continues to grow and spread, to poison more virgin minds to the Guitarded ways of life :)

MUWAHAHHAHHAHHAHHAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaa

I'm constantly hoping for, wishing for, and praying for:
... world peace and an end to all poverty, war and suffering things...
but my dark side says: "Fat chance!" Sorry.

Therefore, I'll concentrate on my efforts to have my 3 kids understand how knowledge and making the right choices contributes to a happy and successful life. They're doing OK so far... :fingersx:

And if ever you find yourself in California, lodging won't be a problem.

I hope Gahr's wife surgery goes easily.

I hope to make a difference and change some lives for the better.

I hope to live each moment in the moment.

I hope me and the ones I love are here next year for my next set of resolutions.

I hope all my Friends have a healthy and wealthy year.

I am thankful for being invited to this forum. I have found a great group of people to chat with.

If your plans ever bring you to AZ please let me know. I am just east of Phoenix.

Happy New Years to all of you and your families.

I pray that all of our hopes and wishes come true this new year.

For me, Goldmember, I'll be satisfied with the occasional shmoke and a pancake in 2018. My goals are to
improve my marriage, continue being the best father I can be for my kids, find time for daily guitar
practice, and perhaps start writing and recording new songs again. Weight loss has gone well this year,
just with cutting out all bread, sugar, pasta, and yesh, beer.

Oh, yesh, and I could finally reach 1000 posts in 2018.

It was tough going from beer to white wine. I found Pinot Grigio to be the lowest in sugar,
yet inexpensive and widely available. Mix it 50/50 with sparkling water, to keep it interesting. ;)
Goldmember has one non-negotiable when it comes to drink: it must have bubbles!

Scotch 12 year old straight from the bottle - 1/2 ounce at a time....

Sugar is one thing, but the main source of calories in beer, wine and spirits is the alcohol...

And in my case, that is an annoying dilemma. In the last few years, I've acquired a taste for IPA's. IPA's generally start at 6%, and can quickly escalate into the 10%-ers. I still try to drink my IPA's like I did during my "super loyal" Budweiser days... late teens to early 20's. You can see how those calorie/sugar levels add up.

And in reference to my post, #11:

IPA's = 12-pack abs
Bud = 6-pack abs

Happy New Year, again... :victoire:

Pennsylvania has new fireworks laws. We can buy anything and use anything. I hope I don't blow my fingers off. It would make it hard to play.
