Always had hood pins on all my cars after the hood on my 69 Dodge Charger flipped up on me going to high school one day.
I prefer the outer edges be secured because the outer edges lift at speed with a center latch, but the hood pin kits you buy for the Mustang pin the center on either side of the latch.
I got this stainless kit with lanyards off E-bay for $12.99 and mounted it to the core support using pre- existing holes. No drilling was done to the radiator core support to mount the pins.
The hood is being replaced with a Shelby GT-Hertz in the near future...
