I am at a loss for words just how in disbelief I am at how life's experiences bring together all that we know and all we cannot even imagine.

To show one example of how I am speechless, I bring you Jason Becker. Now I know I have posted some other clips about Jason and other musicians, but I would like to say that to see his will and his life continue to evolve and reach others, sure shows us how huge a life we are blessed to witness, and how incredible the love of his family is as well.

Have no clue who this dude is...after listening I assume he falls in the Vai, Satriani realm of player?

...and after a few more videos I see he is a speed metal player as well. Not my genre, but he seems good at it.

There are a lot of guitarists who make what they're doing look easy. Few of them though, made their craft look as effortless as Jason Becker did in his prime.

Becker first rose to prominence as a teenager when he was one half of the technical guitar duo Cacophony with Marty Friedman. In 1989, at only 19 years old, he followed in the footsteps of Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai, and became the guitarist for David Lee Roth. He wrote and recorded with Roth for the former Van Halen frontman’s third solo album, A Little Ain’t Enough and was poised for superstardom when a nagging pain in his leg was diagnosed as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a fatal condition with a life expectancy of maybe five years.



Becker though, defied the odds and continues to make music to this day, despite the loss of his ability to play guitar, walk, talk and breathe on his own.
 
I watched most all of those videos. The thing is I just don't like this type of player. Not taking anything away from the guy.

I don't like Malmsteen or the likes of him either. That super speed shredding has never done anything for me. I don't even
like it when someone like Gary Moore went off on a speed attack.

I did like some of the track when he slowed down and played more melodically.
 
Very sad story. I didn't mean to take anything away from your post. I was just commenting on the music itself and not the individual playing it.

I know there are millions of followers of the speed metal genre. I just can't enjoy it due to that very reason. It's just too fast...

No worries and no offense taken. I understood your intention, Chris. I had not seen but one of the vids I posted, prior to today. The Nita Strauss one.
