I thought this might be a fun thread....
So, this morning, I just plugged into my home studio setup and started fiddling around a little. I thought it might be cool to share with you guys what I am actually hearing when I am playing on my 'usual' presets, and likewise, it would be cool to hear some random phrases from you guys with your usual presets.
It can literally be anything, even totally clean tones, or as heavily effect laden as you like.
Since I generally play rhythms in the metal genre, I just recorded my 'saved preset' from my Blackstar ID-Core 100 watt 2X10 combo with only on-board effects in use. I recorded direct-out into my Focusrite USB Interface using Audacity, then duplicated the initial track and added a second panned extra wide. (This is a tone that seems to cut through well with a drum and bass track.)
The progression is loosely based on Lynch Mob's 'Wicked Sensation.' This is pretty much the tone i always dial in for metal rhythm, so I guess you could call it my 'signature' tone in this genre:
Home Studio DAW EQ Preset 11/22/2018
As the thread hopefully progresses, I may post clips of solo tones and maybe even samples of my 'signature tone' from other genres, and all are encouraged to throw their musical hats into the ring!!!
Oh, and a very Safe & Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!!
