Its a very sad few days for Canadians. you have probably seen on the news about the horrific bus crash that killed a total of 15 people most of them ages 16-20 years of age, their Coach and a local news guy that was going to broadcast the game. The bus was carrying the Hockey players to the game. They are from Humboldt Saskatchewan a small Community of 6,000. I cant even Imagine how devastating this would be for their Family's Friends, and the Community . There is a Vigil tonight televised in about a half hour from now, at the Arena where these young men where going to play playoff Hockey. We will keep them in our Prayers and Thoughts. Thanks goes out to those around the World who have sent Condolences to their Family's. Please keep them in your Prayers.

I read about the news also. That's really sad and it goes to show you that life is very precious and every minute of it counts. Hey Session 5...do you remember Tom Cochrane's tune called "The Big Leagues"? I think it was based on a true story of some hockey kid dying in a bus crash some years ago.

Saw it on the news yesterday. Bad news no matter who’s involved, but when it’s a bunch of kids it’s heartbreaking. Praying for the families and community.

There was another 14 on the bus who were all injured 1 of the young men was pulled off of life support donated his Organs and I heard it saved six lives. That's remarkable!! two have been released, others still in hospital. The Vigil last night as you can imagine was very emotional, to see the pictures of these young men , the coaches and the young man who was the announcer of the games. And to see the parents and people of the Community who packed the arena and the Adjacent Curling rink, plus people standing outside the building. The Humboldt Broncos is the Team name. Condolences from around the World have been flowing in, there was a fund set up for the Family's . The Generosity has been overwhelming as of now I believe it to be over 4 million dollars. Thanks to all who have contributed in some way, continue to pray for the Family's , for the injured and their Community.

Life can be changed in the blink of an eye. Life is precious like you say. My heart goes out to these people, I couldn't understand what it would be like to lose one of my children or Grandchildren or any Loved one. What a tragedy for all involved !! Yes I do know the song Blackie, but I don't know the story behind it.

Here's the song if you can make out all the lyrics...a truck doing 70 in the wrong lane. That's what probably killed him.

.From the bus crash last Friday, yesterday the lone girl that was on the bus died she was one of the Trainers she was only 25, putting the death toll now at 16. 2 have left hospital and there are ten still in hospital. Today the first one to be buried the 29 year old radio announcer. Very very sad accident.

I just heard on the news singer/songwriter Tom Cochrane whom I posted a video on this thread has re-recorded his song "Big League" in honour of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team. Also I heard after the fundraising deadline they raised over $15 million for the victims of the bus crash. There's a lot of support going around which is good news.

Your right Blackie on all counts. The World is a small place and goes to show there are still many good people in it . Our hearts go out to the Citizens and Familys of Humboldt and to the Management and Players of the Humboldt Broncos. Yep Blackie that song is touching, when you know the story behind it.

It was a horrible thing to happen, and I am sad as can be for the friends and relatives. But people are randomly dying all the time and nobody has a collection for the relatives. There is something disturbingly "showbiz" about the response here.
