Happy new Ukulele Day for me. While I was in Honolulu I thought that i would look at the various Ukulele shops to see if there was anything that stuck out for me. My wife bought me a real nice used Kamaka Soprano Uke several years ago, and I have always wished it was a Concert or Tenor size to have a few more frets to chase the sounds I was hearing. On my birthday, I decided to buy a Kamehameha Tenor Ukulele. It has a built in pre amp and tuner, so I can plug it in to an amp or board. It's mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard. They are a higher end Chinese brand that are set up at their work shop in Honolulu. I would have liked to have bought another Kamaka or local build, but would have had to add a 1 or 2 at the beginning of the price tag for one of those. The salesman did a good job of selling me on this model because he knew I was a player, and it wasn't going to be a gift or hang on a wall. I've been having fun with it since I bought it.

It also came with a nice hard case.

Dude! You can make a ukulele look smaller than it already is! Big congrats…

Reminds me of the time that I finally checked in with the local guitar shop after the COVID mess started. I asked the owner of the shop how’s the business holding up. To my surprise, he said it’s doing pretty well and that the ukulele’s in particular were flying off the walls!

Our plans to go to Kauai fall of 2024 fell thru, but my plan was to come home with a Uke. On a previous visit we'd found a mom and pop store in Kapa'a. Haven't given up yet on the trip or the Uke.
