That's right, well actually left, it's a cheap Jackson Dinky JS-22L. I actually like this thing. It is playing rather well with nothing but tuning. I got it primarily to test pickups in, but I think it's going to get some play time. There doesn't seem to be any wear on the frets or board. There isn't a scratch anywhere on the gloss black finish and I had to remove all of the clear protective film from it.

I'm going to have to upgrade the tuners with lockers. It has the nasty reverse taper pots, so those will have to go. It has ceramic pickups which I don't really care for, so I will probably make an alnico8 bridge pickup and an alnico 2 or 3 for the neck. May be a good time to try out the unoriented A5 I have. Time to see what's inside now.

Anybody seen this before on an import Jackson?

It has a small used stamp on the back of the head. Like I said, I had to peel the protective plastic from it and it is almost immaculate. I'm guessing it was a demo? Music Zoo has these available for pre-order and I can't find any info on the serial number which is 104041399.

I thought 9 digit imports were from the 2000s.

So…..I’m guessing that you really did like the guitar amp as a bass head….excellent!
Nice score on the Jackson! Congratulations!
Back in the 2000s, I worked with a death metal band that had a bassist that used an old Peavey Butcher as a bass head
