HNEVGTD

A very special thing - a real original / vintage piece.
A whole different rabbit hole indeed.

Did you buy this to play it regularly or is it more of a collector's acquisition?

BOTH!
As I am not "hard" on my gear (I dont gig or travel with them -- not headbanging or tossing them around willy nilly) it will get played with care REGULARLY -- Hell Ive hardly set the thing down since it got here----

While pestering Gibson..............
(can you imagine ME having your direct work #???? oh its not a good thing)

I was instructed to call Carter Guitars in Nashville--- by my "guy" at Gibson--- for more in depth info--
Gibson Electric Guitars | Carter Vintage Guitars

I was fortunate enough to speak directly with Walter Carter --- who indeed WROTE THE BOOK on vintage guitars--as Co Author with George Gruhn!

HOW lucky was that!?! on FRIDAY THE 13th! to catch the OWNER and expert on vintage guitars!!!! I need to go buy a lottery ticket!

thanks jjudas.

SOmeone asked about the "decay" knob??????

"DECADE CONTROL SWITCH The 11 position decade control "tunes" or alters the treble harmonic structure. Position 0 will "peak" the highest frequency. This "peaking" graduates accordingly down the frequency spectrum in steps through position 10." ...................according to the brochure and it goes up to 11, that's one more.

SO-----------this one REALLY DOES GO TO 11!
So it must be a series of low pass filters that gradually filters out the high frequencies. Is it strictly a bass guitar at position 11, Adrian?o_O

Not hardly---- the changes on each control are very subtle and articulate -- but it only "alters" the highs but doesnt remove them :)

Ya know, on my G&L instead of 2 tone controls they are a treble and bass control. It appears Mr. Leo may have been peeking over Mr. Les' shoulder.
Damn I cant wait to play that baby, I may have to bring the Mini Rectifier with me to see what they sound like together.

Just a reminder -------- I GOT IT I REALLY GOT IT AND ITS NOT CRAP--- OR NEEDING FIXED--- OR stolen............NOPE -- its REAL and its SPECTACULAR-----
