however today -- I was gifted a lovely pointy beastie ---

Congrats..it's like a veil came off .. these pointers have so much personality but they play fantastic. How are those pickups? Never saw one of these before.

They are surprisingly GOOD -- playingthem now -- they are HOT -- and fat -- (I assumed the were just cheapo single coils) but they have a beefier P90 vibe......and we all KNOW how I JUST HATE "P90" tone....................BUWAHAHAH sorry couldnt do it with a straight face

for a cheapo guitar, that thing is surprisingly good.
plays effortlessly, great feeling thin neck, no dead spots or buzzing.

pups get damn dirty wide open but roll the volume back a few notches.......and it cleans up very well.-- turn the tone off and hit the neck pup for some very behaved JAZZ tones ---
open the tone and hit the bridge pup and get COUNTRY TWANG --- to ballsie Rolling Stones like Tele tones-----
