Here's The Skinny

I understand this psychology very well.
In fact, 3 days from today, I'm going to mount the very same motorcycle I injured myself with, and I'm taking it for a lap. Just one lap. And then, I'm going to park it, and dismount on my own terms.

And then, I'll likely be done.

But I'll be damned if the last time I ever went riding, I went down and was too scared to dust myself off get back on that horse.
With that attitude towards it, you're already halfway there.

The summer of ‘98 I had a bad crash on the sidecar rig at Mosport in Ontario. Where I landed looked like Wile E. Coyote making an implant in the dirt. I was technicolor from the neck down, but luckily broke nothing. Even though I couldn’t move very well, I rebuild the bike and made the next race four weeks later. Had a tough time, but didn’t want to miss the last race of the season, then have to wait until the next season to see if I’d get back on the bike.
Wow, that is literally getting back in the saddle
