Here's a strange question: stiffness when playing

I have lots of pain in my hands. Not sure what caused it but several years turning wrenches is hard on your hands.
There are always moments when you hurt your hands but I always took it in stride.

I should ask my doctor but he will just send me to another specialist that sees dollar signs from my insurance.

With arthritis in my hands, I'm very careful about doing anything that causes me pain. Guitars are my therapy.
Got a bit of that myself. And same here in regards to therapy.

Edit: It doesn't affect me as much as what I'm reading for some of you. It'd be why I hesitated saying anything. More an annoyance right now. Sometimes there's some pain in the hands and fingers, but I can usually stretch that out.

Sorry to hear of your experiences.
I have some repetitive strain issues with my hands as well.
It also has affected my eyesight, but I didn't go blind......

But seriously, I did a lot of construction type work and now all day computer / AutoCAD the last 12 years.
I sometimes warm my hands and wrists under warm water for a minute or two and always do some warm up exercises before playing.
Even when without pain, the warm ups loosen up my hands / fingers and it is beneficial to my play session.
