So I am getting ready to start re-mixing/editing 6 covers for my CD which will consist of 6 originals also. I am asking for you guys to help me pick the final 6 'covers' that should go onto the CD:

I think Perfect Strangers is a really good option. You really can't go wrong with Ace of Spades, but something is just telling me you should do Orgasmatron for a Motorhead cover. It's just such a cool song.

I always loved "Forever Man" by Eric Clapton, but I hear a much heavier rock version in my head....Sacrilege???

But then without all the synth's and keys....backing choir...etc...Man, I just don't know.

Then I think about Power Station's "Some Like It Hot," but vocally that's a huge challenge!!!!
 
I think i have figured it out....when Metallica did "Turn The Page," it was a recognizable classic, but Metallica made it their own.

I suppose i am still searching for that song to make mine...

Thats why ive done so many...im searching...and i appreciate your insight....and i certainly do "follow you," i guess i just don't have any real idea of what "fits me," as i am not a singer, really...the CD has just been a personal goal and, of course, i want to do my best, and part of that is finding songs that "fit" as you say.

I feel like - IMHO - Ace Of Spades and Road To Hell are "good fits" for me. I also have a good feeling about Perfect Strangers in third place...and we always got requests for Blue On Black, despite its "Country-esque" feel.

Fall To Pieces is very popular with audiences, but, as you say, its probably not a "good fit" for me.

So, im still searching.

Cult Of Personality has worked me harder than any other cover song has thus far. It took numerous takes to get the bass lines down correctly and the guitar parts are purely maniacal.

We shall see!!!!!!

So, maybe now it should be more of finding what songs are a "Good Fit" as opposed to just covers that I personally like????
