Hello from Tennessee

I think it should be mentioned that the amp known as Lil Devil has a very interesting story behind it. In short, Steve resurrected this amp from a steaming pile of doo doo into what you see in the pics. He takes no credit for it, but if you look at the quality of the build, and I think it was his first, you can see he has talent. Not to mention the beautiful guitars he's built, as evidenced in his pics.
 
I'm very new hear also, however I was treated with respect, kindness and many who welcomed me; therefore it is only fair I treat you and others with the same respect I received. I spend a few minutes each week, sometimes more, and I'm finding this is a great group to be a part of. If you write, I am blind, so words are better then pictures. Thanks.

Thanks, Far. He means this steaming pile of doo doo. Yeah, :poo: it was a mess. I had a lot of (forum) help figuring out and fixing the circuit. I couldn't have done it all on my own. The actual work is mine tho, not this one, the one I posted before, lol. This is what I started with...

These are my Warmoth builds. I've built 7 total, but these are my only keepers so far. These are all short scale conversion necks.

The first one is my #1, Korena body with maple top and a roasted maple/rosewood neck. ..it killed my Les Paul.

This one was my 1st build and used to have a humbucker in it, but I routed it for the p90. I'll be replacing this body with a proper (single) p90 route, TOM bridge and no pickguard or neck pickup.

It's a very long story, man, but I'll give you the "in a nutshell" version. The builder was a member of MF and this was supposed to be a prototype. When I opened it up and saw the mess I posted on the forum to warn people. Several people on the forum stepped up to help me resolve safety issues, but it turned into a total rebuild because I wanted to prove that a complete novice could do a better job. I couldn't have done it on my own but I was going to try. Thanks to Terry and another guy (rmroza) that used to be on MF we were able to reverse engineer what he had done and then correct mistakes in circuit as I rebuild it. The only original part is the chassis. This all happened back in 2013 I believe. There's a thread if you can find it, but I couldn't. I don't even remember what the title was.

I can slop some experiments together just to see what it sounds like. But then I tear it apart again.
I wouldn't deliver an amp to a customer in that kind of condition.
There is an "experimental" phase, and there is a "finished product" phase.
So essentially I build it twice.
Once just to hear it. Or to tweak it...I might tweak it a bunch of times till I'm happy with the certain sound.
And a second time as a finished amp that is professional, not a rat's nest.

Before I joined MF I had read many of Steve’s posts about the Dsl40c’s and his fantastic guitar builds.
But once I had joined Steve was not posting so much, glad to have ya here bro!!
