Head shell idea...

So I have this shell on the shelf that used to house my John H attenuator.

Here's an old pic from when I made this cab set.

It happens to be the right size for my JMP50 rebuild, but it's a little short, so I got out the head stretcher again...
Rummaged through the scrap pile and made some side extenders.
This will be the same height at the shell on the Ceriatone.
I'm thinking of stacking them for an either/or option with the cabs, or a stand-alone stereo rig.

Same wood as the rest of the cherry cabs, but I figured I'd never match the grain, or the stain.
Decided to just go with black stain.
It's all just sitting in place for now - still gotta glue it up and put some clear on the spacers.

With some black grill cloth on the logo plate, it'll look like a continuous black stripe.
I'm fresh outta Marshall logos, and it's not exactly a real Marshall, so maybe I'll make or buy something custom.

Made a dowel pin drill jig so all the pieces line up flush on the outside edges.
Shown next to the severed top of the old M2 shell.

Flip it over and it does the opposite side. :yesway:

4th coat of oil is on - got about 4 more to go.
A little grain and a hint of cherry is bleeding through the black stain.
I think it's going to look cool.

Mojotone replacement FX loop is inbound for Wednesday.
Replacement input jacks and caps from Amplified Parts are due in Thursday.
Taking Friday off for a nice 4 day weekend with the Monday holiday.
Hopefully by this time next weekend, I'll be jamming on the JMP clone through some creambacks.
