Hate when a string breaks mid project.

I clean after each use w string cleaner or methyl hydrate. When they sound and look dull out they go. I find the FR stay in tune between playings very well. One nice thing about lots of guitars. I rotate em live so it takes a long time to need to restring any of them.

I use a piece of cut off leather belt to block under the floyd so it stays in the same position as floating when tension is removed.
read that on the SG forum I think.
Replace strings and tune up. done.
Sometimes I have to step the tuning down then come up.

I almost never break strings.

I learned a LONG time ago, early 2000's that I have to be pretty picky about strings or i'll end up breaking them. Also kinda picky about picks, I find that Fender picks are far too brittle, sometimes ended up snapping those in half, switched to dunlops and the only thing i've noticed is i'll quickly where down the tip on the lighter ones.

I use Ernie Bollocks 1.5 pick, once Im through the pack I will change it.

The only reason I got it it was yellow, Mustaine plays yellow picks and it had eagle. Eagle is metal so I thought cool I’ll have that. :)
