Has anyone else seen this type of staining?

nice strap Don ;)
Thanks! It’s one of the most comfortable…one of the lesser padded…but just the right firmness to grab my shoulder evenly, and move with me. It’s a genuine Well-Hung strap! By our buddy Brad (@TVvoodoo )! A true artist! You can see more of his work at His Reverb Store…. ;)

One ballot for Donnie!

Hey, not gonna lie I almost shat my pants see that strap, that banner then that sploogy strat.

Very glad it worked out for you and that it's you who is toxic, not my straps.

Last week a guy on TGP mentioned that he had a bit of dye transfer onto a white shirt of his, and I felt terrible.
That was the ONLY guy to mention it in about eleven years of me making probably average 150 straps a year so I'm doing aig't

Happy friday and thanks for the shoutsout

Those are very nice straps and some very nice guitars to be sure!@@!

I made a strap in 1980 from a piece of leather I bought from a local saddle shop. When I first made it, it was kinda long and there is no buckle or adjustments of any kind. I used black leather dye and mink oil.

Along about 1988, I shortened it to work with only a Stratocaster. I pounded holes in the leather with an empty shell casing and a hammer to install the (then new) Dunlop strap locks.

I'm still using this strap today....

For me, its a real comfort item..kinda like Linus's blanket. I know there are better straps put there, but when I sling-on my Stratocaster, I remember that first live show at Redbanks Saloon (now Smokey's Dead Rat Saloon near Woodlake, California) standing behind the chicken wire...and when I touch that piece of leather, all these memories start flooding back.

It's strange how that piece of leather can transport me to another time and place...

Sure enough….I didn’t even work up a sweat, and I’m freshly clean and showered. It’s not as bad, but I would’ve expected to not be as bad…

I guess this is just gonna be my “super touch sensitive” guitar.
It sounds and plays too good for me to care too much about cosmetics.

I will look into firing off an email to Gibson, just out of curiosity.

Might have to call Professor Venkman and the crew over at Ghostbusters. Looks like Ectoplasm escaping from within
