Lambs blood on your door so the plague passes you by.
Crawl out of the tomb 3 days later. (the first zombie?)
Deaf chocolate bunnies because you ate their ears first
hiding multi colored eggs in your backyard.

What a weird holiday.....

Happy Easter everyone.

:)

Two days, wasn't it? "Died" Friday, rose Sunday.

That is accurate. I like to think of it as a story of someone who was willing to die formhis beliefs to make the world a better place rather than the grotesque distortion in has become. Whether you deem this person the son of God or do not believe in any of it, the example is good. There have been many such examples: MLK Jr., every veteran willing to die for a worthy cause, every officer killed in the line of duty and the the imprisoned or persecuted who chose to speak up against oppression. Long live the courageous and just spirit that is exemplified by such folk and which resides in all of us.

I like your allegory, but of course that isn't the gist of the bible story which is altogether much more cynical.

Agreed. I believe in individual spiritual journeys. No need to use ideas as anchors. I prefer to use them as spring boards.

I don't know about the whole Son of God thing but it seems that there was some
guy back then back there that had something heavy to say and people listened.
As Ray said, it wasn't the only time that has happened. The guy must have
been a real crowd pleaser though because he got the "Son of God" award.

Unfortunately there is not a single piece of contemporary evidence, so we can really only regard it as a story.
