Actually, turns out that what I heard was just a rumor...as these things usually go... word is traveling fast....he very well might be dead but the "official" word is that he was airlifted and last known was in critical condition...we'll see what happens. Death would not be a surprise at this point. That was a gnarly crash

Speaking from experience, obviously not on this scale, "casing" your bike (or coming up short) especially to this extent, can cause massive head injury, not to mention internal damage. Have a friend who did something similar once, had to have his jaw wired shut for months. This guy today might as well have hit a brick wall at 100mph or more

Naw, I'll stay on the dirt lol

I retired from the daredevil game a long time ago. They all die young and for nothing, just like the guy who previously held this record, also from Washington.

Still safer on the dirt, away from the other vehicles lol....but there was a time I was interested in a road bike. Maybe someday

I don't want anything to do with giant steel ramps. Sand dunes are different, I'll still hit those

This guy had talked about wanting to make the Snake River jump next, but obviously he's not going to now.

Smoked Carnitas seems like the appropriate way to go, my friend... NOW you got me hungry, McB! I think I'm gonna have to make some carnitas too on the weekend! Rubbed with some nice spices, braised in their own juices and a little OJ or good 'ole coke (liquid) and then caramelized in their own rendered lard... the traditional mexican way. OK, gotta make a grocery list here...

Yep, the only thing not exactly authentic that I want to do is smoke the pork before I crisp it! Get me some cilantro and lime, maybe a nice salsa verde....hhnnggg
