When I grew up, you either handed out candy, or your porch light was out and the tricksters skipped the house. Back in the day, if you found a bowl on the porch it was pretty much "all bets are off." These days, most of my neighborhood put out bowls and then complain on FB that their bowl was taken. Am I weird for thinking, "you had it coming!" LOL

We basically live on a dead end street. Not too many houses nearby. We had two kids last night. None last year. The year before we had a couple because one kid wanted to say hi to our pooch. We buy candy just in case. End up eating it ourselves…. Win win.
 
Back home in Indiana, we always had 2 trick or treat nights, usually from 6 to 9. One night you stayed home & passed out candy & the other night you went trick or treating. Here in Texas it is one night from dusk to whenever you turn your light off. I like the 2 nights with set times.
