Last time I used my Hakko 936 Soldering station with a 900 Hand piece, I noticed it seemed to be not heating up to melt the solder.
MY tip is clean and fairly new, so that was not it. I took it apart and the ceramic element is broken in half. Now, it also is attached to wires and stuff, so I figured I might be doomed to buying a new hand piece. Then I went online and found replacement elements that I assume may need to have the leads soldered to their respective contacts. I ordered a batch of them, in case I run into issues again. I think I am getting 4-5 of them for under $10
Anyone ever had to repair hand pieces before?
