So, I guess the RD is the new guitar on the block for everyone to copy.

Though there are some exceptions, it seems the bulk of other solid-body guitars is some adaptation of something Fender or Gibson has made.

PRS has a unique style. Some of the more extreme metal-oriented designs are unique. Rickenbacker certainly is unique. But, the vast majority of other models are an adaptation of a Tele, a Strat, a Les Paul, an SG, a Firebird, an Explorer, or a Flying V. I guess the RD can be added to the list.
