Got a question for y’all. I know Robert used Guitar Rig in some of his recordings. Don’t remember that he ever mentioned the different things he did with it…. Just that he used it.

Was wondering if any of you recording artists happen to use it? Often Sporadically? Can’t run away from it fast enough?

There’s many videos showing the how to use. Just wondering if it’s even worth my time to learn or if I’d be better off just deleting from the HD.

Thanks boys and girls. Have a wonderful day.

I think it’s worth but I don’t have real experience as I had the trail version. It limits what you can do with it. A full version probably would work well.

Gee, how helpful. “I’ve never used the software in question, but here’s a list of my far superior gear.”

I’ve used Guitar Rig in several productions, and it worked well, especially for cleaner tones. The time based effects sound good, but (per usual) the drives are nothing to write home about. It came with a Komplete bundle… I don’t know if I’d pay two bills for the full version by itself.

I did drop $350 on a UAFX pedal that sounds kinda like a Dumble, But that’s a specialized tone I’ve been chasing for many years.

I was starting to get into using Guitar Rig when I started going down the road of using software emulation. The sounds were okay to me, but they don't (or didn't at the time...I don't know what they have now) have a good version that could be used for portable purposes on an iPad. One nice thing is that it was MIDI controllable, which I really wanted. So, I didn't go far enough with it to really compare effects too much, but it was kind of intriguing.

But, I was looking to play live with it; studio use wasn't my priority.

I ended up using Positive Grid Bias FX 2 because it had a good iOS version that ran well on an iPad, and it is MIDI controllable, as well. I did use this live on several occasions and it worked pretty nicely. A lot depends on the audio interface. Eventually, I ended up going to a Helix because it has a very flexible work flow and it has a lot more models to choose from.

As I recall, he was using it in studio for recording effects and that sort of thing. I think he also used the Guitar Rig amp models.
