It depends on what and how you practice.
You can spend an awfu lot of time noodling or playing stuff you already are proficient at.
That feels good and is fun, and it may even be enjoyable to listen to, but it doesn't promote growth.
The real tears come from embracing the suck and working on the weakest areas of one's technique ...
but so does real progress.
And in the end, what you practice is what you play, so ... be mindful in your practice routines.
