Guitar Grounding - Needing help

If Schecter is equipped with EMG's there is no bridge ground.
I bought the guitar used, dirt cheap with some weird setup in it. Had these pickups called "Bellcats" in there and the tone knob was a 8 position tone selector. It was fun at first but really wasn't that useful. I ended up getting new pickups for my VMNT, so the active Livewires moved into the Schecter. So now, it's an active pickup setup and with the bridge ground now.

Could it be that the pickup was not wired correctly by the builder?

Just trying to throw some options out there.

I don't think the Schecter pups, which are SD Livewires, or my VMNT pickups are messed up, but I am suspicious of the Jackson Soloist custom pickup I ordered from a forum member.

My Jackson, if I put my hand over the pickup, which I have to in order to play the thing, hums a lot. Then if I touch the pickup, it goes nuts.
