guess you can .....................

gig with a SOlid state modeling amp..........
My daughter has the Mustang 1 V2 and while it would be too small to club with unless you mic'ed it up: they really are incredible amps for the price and sound. The Mustang IV should have no issues in a club whatsoever, so i can see this

Its a 150w 2x12 at the end of the day, so yeah, it could do a small gig easily. There's the debate over " well its not a valve 150w but an SS, so the level of output isnt the same" , which really, watts are watts but its how we perceive the sound at a high level and SS amps breaking up more and sounding muddy that makes us think differently. But even a 150w SS ( RMS) is still pretty loud and on par with about a 45-60w valved amplifier when you hear them in person.

For a short period actually, i was using a 50w Marshall SLX 4x12 and my buddy (@froman5150 ) was using a Peavey Bandit 112 100w with a 1x12 extension cab and they kept up fairly close with one another: the Marshall being rolled back a bit with the Peavey being cranked. Ultimately, i went to a 50w JCM2000 4x12 and he took the 50w SLX 4x12 to both be louder, once our bassist got a bigger rig and the PA itself got larger lol

ewh......................a SOLID STATE MARSHALL.......... and played by a GIRL.......... the shame..... doesnt she know you cant do that ....... silly girl.....

OK, I'm sure I'm get some poop for saying this and it's just "my" opinion, but the vast majority videos I've watched on YouTube, Tik Tok, Twitter etc of girls/women shredding has not impressed me at all. (Guys too.) Yea, they're fast, have top shelf equipment and most of them are model material, but what I don't see is originality, feel and phrasing. It's so easy these days to hop on YouTube and search "How To Play" any song you want, but for the love of Jesus, make it your own and put some feeling behind it!!!!!! Where are the guitar faces?

These youngins' these days.......I don't get it. :io:

Yeah i agree there totally. With UltimateTabs, Songsterr and thousands of Youtube videos; any one can learn the song the right way and that's awesome. But they just copy it note for note, no lil flavors of their own; be it different tones or techniques. I sometimes am guilty of the statue look when playing something complicated for the first time, because im trying not to screw up lol but if i have played a few times or its something that i didn't think was hard the first time, I'll go all goofy faced lol

yeah it NEVER happens not at all -- no pro level musicians use solid state not one :pound-hand:

LES PAUL HIMSELF played a SS Tech 21 and had a BOSS loaded pedal board for the majority of his tenure at the Iridium....... last I heard no ONE got up and LEFT because Les wasnt playing a tube amp.......... I believe we have some members here who have even SEEN Les at the Iridium ......... let me ask did you or anyone present BOO him or stand up and leave for NOT USING A TUBE AMP ON STAGE?!?!?!
nope -- no -- no one did........ no one would......

the reality is the BILLIONS of people a year that attend concerts dont know SPIT about HOW THE HELL THE SONG IS CREATED OR PLAYED .... they just know they like it .... and dance

maybe its just because Im a BASS player that dabbles in guitar .....???
.

I have 2 very very nice tube guitar amps ---and I love them ..Ive never even OWNED a tube bass amp (ive played a few out in stores etc-- they are nice but not worth the $$ IMHO)

AND I also love the ability to sit and fiddle with a BAZILLION tonal options from my Ampero processor and find new combinations and dicover new tones -- all without having to spend a BAJILLION dollars ........ or have space for 72 amps and 150 pedals and 95 cabs.......

MAKE THE SOUND YOU LIKE but dont poop on others for liking the sound they Make ......

Ive owned various SS combos thru the years and liked them all really. My biggest amp and arguably the loudest i have is in fact, a hybrid ( SS Power and Tube preamp, like a Valvestate on Russian Olympics Grade steroids): The Marshall Mode Four, 350w SS with two ECC83s in the preamp section.
Still a favored live amp of both John 5 and Alex Skolnick, was used extensively by Slayer as well. @Headache uses one as well actually.

Not to mention both our brothers @Mitch Pearrow SJMP and @BFT Gibson use Marshall MOSFETs and they sound phenomenal!
