My plans for world domination have failed!!!!

Don't worry Robert...you still have time. Patience is a virtue.

I like the tone a lot Robert. Wooly but not fizzy is a good thing.

On another note, why oh why must Marshall mess with us the way they do with the DSLs?
- No head version of the 40?!?! Why?
- No effects loop on the 15?!?! are they insane?
- No 12" speaker version of the 5?!?! Ugh!

Thanks! I appreciate the comments and description of the tone.

Believe me, I was shocked!

IMHO, the DSL40C really doesn't live up to its full potential until its running through a 4x12 cabinet. I basically use one as a practice amp and the other for students. Sometimes I run both.

I want a DSL100H next!

Robert, I have had issues with my 50 watt JMP, but in researching the issues myself with the huge help of some members, I am confident the culprits were small glitches, and the amp is poised to be a tone machine even you might concur would make some killer Humbucker filled sonic creations.

If I were you, Robert and I had your former rig seeming cumbersome, I might opt for a setup like my buddy uses. combinations of 2x12's. They are easily transported and when added together they equal the bigger Marshall style 4x12's or full stack 2-4x12's etc

Time for the reveal....

It was the 1987 Squire with the 1992 DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Solo bridge pickup, wired through a 1987 Alpha 250k tone pot with a 220k ohm treble bleed....

Same exact setup used in this video:

Same amp settings as shown above. Same amp settings used for this video of my Gibson SG

Here you can really hear the difference between the Fender and the Gibson with IDENTICAL amplifier settings:

Thoughts???

See, I knew it was a trick. Robert should be a covert ops specialist who uses diversionary tactics to throw people off the trail.

1st he tells us all the horror stories of his original and new SG's plus his mods to make the new one acceptable.
Tells us about his Strat turned super strat then turned back to a "Rory strat"
Plus further tales of his number 1. Good old Schecter.

A few more twists and turns and he has us psychologically prepped to fail at guessing then outguessing ourselves.
Voila, I fell short. Despite knowing it was not the SG I was hearing, I somehow thought Robert wanted us guessing the Schecter or Strat and then was going to reveal the once troublesome SG produced a pleasing result captured on recording.

Now y'all know how my twisted mind works.
