Got them tarbacks today

Received them 2 Gibson tarback pickups today. They were taken out of a 1976 Explorer.
Don't know yet what I'm gonna do with them.

They are Tarbacks? I heard they might sound a bit dull and the epoxy potting can short out the pickups? I have a 1979 Artist LP and they were changed out before I got it to Sat Night Specials for that reason - shorted. I have no experience with these pickups other than what I heard about that.

Doesn't mean these aren't stellar!!
