Got the blues?

Ages ago, one of the elective classes I was taking at Harvard Extension School was titled "History of the Blues in America." It was a great class with excellent discussion, music, and guest speakers and performers. At the end of the class, we were given an option of writing a long paper or recording a few tracks to submit for a grade.

Here are two of my submissions. I could have sworn that I uploaded all three. The second track is played on my Dobro. Both tracks live in the studio, with the slide overdubbed on the first track. I got an A+ in the class, and 4.0 for my semester grade.

That's awesome, man! I'd love to take a class like that.

Excellent SG !!

One of my favorite BB Chung King & the Buddahead songs... If you have never heard this song, please listen. It's one that really needs to be heard.

As I mentioned in an earlier post today, during my current road trip I stopped in Memphis. Went to Sun Records and stood in the studio Elvis recorded his first record. Went to Stax Records Museum and saw a :poo: TON of history. All most brought me to tears, all the memories and emotions hitting all at the same time. Afterwards on Beale Street the wife and I had dinner at BB Kings Club. Great food and music. The Rock and Soul museum was great also. This was all music I grew up on.

So I have seen New Orleans, Nashville, and Memphis and for my money Memphis I would go see again for sure. The other 2 . . . eehhh

Very cool! I'm embarrassed to say I've lived in TN for 6 years now and I haven't been to any of those places.

I love Memphis. Would go back in a second, with no second thoughts.
