Got a bunch of new guitars and amps today.

That looks great! Does it weigh a ton too?
Actually not very heavy at all for an LP: 8.3 lbs.

'80s Burnys can vary quite a bit in weight, yet the build quality is consistently high. I don't think Burny offered a really low-end line like some other Japanese brands. I could be wrong but the Burnys I've seen from that era all have been great guitars, although the mid-priced ones had poly finishes instead of nitro lacquer.

I have one pretty hefty Orville By Gibson that weighs 9.9 lbs, about the same as your LP Custom. Thinking about setting that up with heavier strings as a dedicated slide axe, since I can't play it for more than a couple of songs at a time, even with a wide strap. I have a set of robotuners sitting around unused too - don't love that idea but it would be great to have several open tunings on tap in a single guitar...

My heaviest is 12 lbs, a '72 Ibanez Jazz Bass copy. A real beast, but it sounds huge. Used it on a bunch of records back in the days of vinyl.
Currently awaiting installation of its second replacement neck - it's been played a lot for nearly fifty years.
My only other Ibanez is a PJ bass that weighs in at only 7.3 lbs.

12lbs is a lot!

I suspect this LP might be the Randy Rhoads model with some non original parts, like pick guard and knobs. It has the metal ring and knob for the puckups selector switch and it looks original. No traces of any re-soldering. Plus, it would be a weird thing to change without also changing the knobs... I really don't know.

Funny thing is... LP's are not my favorite, but I pick it up a lot.
