Hey TCE63, I have a contact for you in Sweden for Godin Guitars. I read somewhere you said they are hard to find, so here you go Bud. Hope you get a chance to try one out.

SO Earlier this evening I hung the Gretsch back on the hook-- with a list of "tweaks" -- that include SHIELDING ---
I then grabbed the Godin.........and have been playing it on and off for the better part of an hour ---and I realized.......

when I set it down-- plugged in VOLUME on full (guitar) -- there is NO hum-- as I type-- no hum-- as the A/C window unit KICKS IN -- no hum................
what damn MAGIC is this ?!?!?!?!

I dont HAVE TO SHIELD a guitar ?!?! -- the FACTORY actually made it "F"-ing QUIET?!?!?!?!?!

certainly not been my experience with that OTHER "G" named USA company.............................................................or Gretsch!

Congrats Canucks you know how to make a POLITE guitar -- that sounds AMAZING -- or doesnt-- WHEN YOU WANT IT TO --- how stellar!

GUYS -- another AMAZING value -- in NON INDO/China guitars---------

GODIN-- really they can be found for STUPID cheap compared to other NORTH AMERICAN Brands -- and rest assured the QUALITY is truly "there"

The Freeway BASS was my first Godin (which I flipped for a nice profit) but I wish I had held on to it!

they are now going for about 25% MORE than I sold it for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice review Adrian, as you know I have 4 beautiful Godins, and no Hum from any of them. That is just one FABULOUS axe you have there!!!!!!!!! education is a marvelous thing EH! I can see a new Godin Bass coming in the near future. I know when you play that beast the Barometric pressure rises.(y)

Say S5 -- do you know WHO makes the Godin Pickups--- ???
Are they "proprietary" and wound there in the Frozen Tundra of Canuckia ---or????? are they imported from humid climes in the Ancient Orient?

The pick ups are made by G&B out of Korea to Godins specs. This is for the Summit Classic SG. Godin uses different Manufacturers to make pickups to their specifications.

G&B makes pickups for different guitar companies like PRS, ESP, I read somewhere some have been made for Les Pauls as well, I'm sure there are others too.
