What percentage is required to be marked Made in USA?

FTC requires that a product be manufactured in the U.S. of more than 50 percent U.S. made parts to be considered Made in USA for government procurement purposes....

The ugly part is, that 50% is cheap, Chinese parts, but you are paying a Made In USA price....
 
When you look at the parts nomenclature on the Fenders, there is the same part # tuning key for the "vintage style" American Ultra as there is for the Squire CV.

Gibson gets capped on for their high prices.

Gibson Deluxe tuners say Made In Germany on the back.

The big difference is you pay the same price for guitar with imported parts that you do for a guitar Made In USA...
