Good News , Schenker gets the Signature “V”

The bad news is , only 50 are being made.
It’s not what I wanted them to build and Michael didn’t really have a lot of ideas from what had heard a year ago in an interview.

I dig my Dean '79 V, but just cant get good tuning stability at the nut due to the string angles to the tuners.

I don’t know why but my Dean seams to be stable. Even though due the angle the strings look like they could come out of the nut.

I couldn’t find a price but I would guess about $10,000 ?

Schenker said in an interview from 2022 he liked Dean. He had of course met Eliot and toured the factory. He was impressed.
He was always rough on his guitars. Bowing the necks to drop a note slightly.Back then he said Gibson didn’t do anything for him.
Gibson are well known for broken headstocks.

The video says you get a chunk of Mahogany with a Medallion on it , that’s part of the puzzle but the whole guitar he played before it was painted , a reissued would be cool.
After all , the songs that made him and the black and white guitar more famous were written and played on the red 71 medallion (same guitar )with the Medallion still attached. I just think of that guitar from all of the early video’s and it’s so unique.

Maybe my memory has faded, but wasn’t Michael playing a white V in the late 70’s when they were touring with Rush ?

I seen UFO 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 guitar was a red 1971 medallion Gibson V

I've been trying to find info on the guitar, and am coming up empty. It seems a base model Murphy Labs is in the 6500-7500 dollar range, so I'd also guess starting in the 10K or much higher range. Awful lot of money for a guitar tat would be more of a collector piece than anything else.
