Going through leftovers, found a 2x12 cab kit...

Leftover build stuff, mostly from the VM combo cab conversion.
Got enough of that nice Marshall black levant to wrap a small cab.
The VM grill was too small to re-use on that build, but big enough for a custom 2x12.
100" string of gold flange piping.
Old VM combo back panel that I'm thinking of splitting for a semi-open back.
Pair of those Haze/Marquee 16Ω G12T-66 speakers I swapped out of my Haze15 cabs.
Last 2 reclaimed ply box frames that when I rip lengthwise on the short face yield pre-made face frames.
Top, bottom & 2 sides from the 2 boxes split lengthwise.
Scrap of more 3/4 ply to extend the sides from about 8" to a 12" cab depth.

Limiting dimensions on the junk pile are the grill at 17-1/2" across the short side, and the 24" boxes.
Baffle will be this 24 x 17-1/2", with the finished outside dims of about 25-1/2 x 19.
Speakers are shown sitting on some framing squares on top of the grill to check fitment.
Going horizontal and planning to put this on top for the amp.

Just ordered some trim pieces & hardware to get what's missing.
With shipping, project cost will be about $50 out of pocket.
Should have some build pics next weekend.

Got the baffle laid out last night.

I considered a slant front like the Mojotone Slammins, or an angled set-back like a 1936.
Decided to just go with a perpendicular baffle orientation so I can rotate the cab horizontal or vertical.
Going to pre-drill logo pin holes for either, but it will start out horizontal with the cup handles on the short sides.

Tweaked the overall dimensions a little to 25-3/4 x 17-1/4 x 12.
(Baffle will be 24 x 15-1/2)
About as wide as a 1922 cab but a little shorter and deeper.

Table saw comes out this morning.
Package from Amplified Parts should be here in the mail around lunch time..

And.... go.

Split the boxes leaving an 1-1/2 face frame on one side, flush trimmed the other side.
They are actually a solid core panel with veneers, but the extension pieces are regular ply.

Cut the 4" extensions.

Picked the best 2 pieces for the top & bottom and trimmed the sides to a rough length with a panel squaring jig.

Laid out the dowel pins and cut a pair of spacer pieces to add a 1/2" to the T&B.
