Godin ---how its done

I really like watching these factory videos.

That’s an interesting little circuit board they use. His statement that soldering to the back of a pot destroys the pot is quite a stretch. But, their approach to using a circuit board looks really compact. I’d like to see what they look like installed.

Their method of fine tuning the nut height is also interesting.

That was great watching that video since now I'm a proud owner of a Godin guitar. They are really great guitars for the money you pay and they don't have over-inflated prices like Gibson does. I bet they have really good choices of wood in their warehouse which really makes the guitar sound good in the end. Thanks for posting.:)

Graph Tech nuts are harder than bone? I found that statement surprising

Yeah, I caught that, too.

Being highly variable and porous, you can have some pieces of bone that are harder than others. I think it’s more accurate to say that Tusq is harder than some examples of bone, but there may be other samples of bone that are harder than Tusq.

Aside from any hardness question, one real advantage to Tusq is its consistency.

On my 2014 Godin guitar on the head stock is just says "Godin Belmont" and underneath "Made in Canada". The newer ones now say "Richmond Belmont" which is still under the Godin name. So there is a Richmond series of different guitars that are made of course in Richmond, Quebec, Canada. They probably have a whole list if you Google the name "Godin Richmond series guitars".

Thanks for putting in the Video eSGEe. Godin has a very intricate plant, they have also developed some of their machines. Years back they made necks for Fender and Kramer , but no longer they are to busy making them for their own guitars. My personal opinion is you get a better quality guitar from a private Company. In most cases Employees are better taken care of and are more like family to the Company . When it becomes on the stock market, this is when things generally start going down hill, it becomes more about money than the people that work for you they have a hard time balancing both. Too many hands in the pot. Better control with a private Company, better to sell Quality over quantity. Quality shows in Godin guitars don't take my word for it TRY ONE. Really compare and see if you can get the same Quality for the same money you can buy a Godin for. You will be very hard pressed to find one, I haven't Yet.
