Girls Play Bass Too...

Ritchie Blackmoore also sounded *very* different on his ES335 than on his Strat. Listen, for example, to Child in Time on the Made in Japan and to the earlier release of that song on the Concerto with Group and Orchestra (where he still plaed the Gibson, much more powerful dynamics...)

BTW. why did all these people switch to Strats? Did Fender spend money for that? (a normal endorsement would be a joke for such well known guys, wouldn't it?)

I switched the other way!

I'm guessing initial cost, reliability, repair-ability and weight.

Indeed. I always liked the way he sounded on a LP, whenever I see him play now I wish he would go back. Feel the same thing about Clapton - the guy slays on a Gibson, but sounds like tapioca milquetoast on a Strat.

Pete Townshend too. I know his ears bother him, but his Strat sound is so anemic compared to his SG or LP sound.

so your throwing down the Gibson V Fender gauntlet then?

this is the antithesis---the BIG BANG--- the Genesis of ROCK.

Nope...just stickin' to the facts...I love my Les Paul, but everything I said holds true...

Les Paul vs Strat?
Fooeypoop on that.

I bought an EBMM Guitar.
I call it my Paulocaster.
Best of both worlds.
Rosewood board.
No belly cut.
Maple cap.
HSH with a 5 way wired

Makes all 5 of the good sounds and none of the others with just 1 guitar.
...and it's pretty too.
:)

...and they probably all switched to Fenders
because fender threw a ton of money at them.

I have owned 3 strats in my life.
1 for a few years.
1 for about 6 weeks.
1 for a day and a half.

They are not for me.

An SG is not heavier than a Strat. And a Tele is about as heavy as an LP.

Repairability????
Even Pete Townsend used different guitars for playing and for smashing.

THankfully we live in a time that many of us here have been blessed to own both Fender ....and Gibson........and Warwick, and Epi, and .......Taylor, and.........

We are SICK BUNCH
