Girl In A Guitar Store.........

If I need jeans or tee shirts, shopping is this:

turn on iPad
Open Amazon app
Go to wish list
Select Wranglers jeans (saved there)
Click add to cart
Return to wish list
Select tee shirts (choice of long or short sleeve)
Add to cart
Checkout (and save 5% using Amazon CC)

Total time shopping less than 2 minutes. Clothes arrive within a few days. No gas used, no parking and walking, no crowds.

The down side to this. If one needs a widget at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Napa Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, The local Radio Shack or Mom and Pop electronics stores, etc. 9 times out of 10 a hunt for it would turn up, Available Online only. Due to store or delivery to home in 3-10 days. So much normal merchandise is no longer in the stores. Back in Oct, I needed a dress shirt and dang tie for my niece's wedding and thought I could swing into Walmart on my way to pick up my mom 1/2 way between my place and hers ( like 1.5 hrs) away. Walmart does not even carry Neck ties. WTF?

OR like the mom n pop electronics stores or ANY electronics stores for that matter, NO brick and mortar left because of Amazon and Chinese markets.

AND -- Amazon offers the TRY before you buy - ;)
When I needed new work boots I was able to order 3 pairs from different makers--- try them in my home -- for (I think it was 3 days) and then RETURN the ones I didnt want at NO CHARGE --- I liked that so much I bought a Pair of Red Wing Irish Setters and a month later bought a SECOND "back up" pair which are in my closet "IF" or when the first pair wear out !

( TO BE CLEAR-- I ahd a pair of Irish setters I LOVED for WAY over 10 years wore them slap OUT including being resoled....but when I went to buy more THEY DISCONTINUED THAT PARTICULAR MODEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the FRIGGIN HORROR!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:)

BUT -- I am VERY VERY DAMN happy with the new ones -- watch this space to see if these last 10 years

OH how I hate the Discontinue the Everything and Anything that is truly a Grand Slam Hit it out of the park product. Then the replacement flat out sucks.

The market is what the market is ;)

AND THIS is WHAT our 2021 BS of all BS's market has in store for us.

Price Gouging 2x12 Treated.jpg

$76 Freaking DOLLARS for ONE ONE ONE ONE ONE O----- N------- E------FREAKING 2x12x16. ONE FREAKING board costs almost 1/3 what I paid for my last car.
If I must be truthful, I had some majorly awful thoughts my mind inflicted upon everyone responsible for a piece of wood costing just shy of $80 after taxes. Only to have it sit out in the weather 24/7/365 to eventually become ant food or other wear and tear from exposure to the elements.

Just a hint of the beginning of my reaction,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, " I wished that at these prices, so many people in the land would cease to build anything, cease to hire anyone, cease to buy gas, buy wood, block, cars, movies, or anything to essentially cripple all these price gougers and leave them with rotting stock piles of unused wood, food, gas, Stupid ass electric cars, and so many other forced on us things.

Roberrt, When we were kids, mom used to buy Tough Skins Jeans for me at Sears. They had extra patches or something to reinforce the knees for us boys who spent much time being BOYS.

I could see if they have some adult versions with extra thick patches in the heiney for your 94 MPH farts. Bro.
I May or may not have experienced 94 MPH farts!

:rolf:

When I needed boots last year, I could not get my diehards , because all the Sears stores were closing, so boots I have been wearing for 28+ years I can’t get, none available in my size online or anywhere.
So I had my wife get me wolverines, excellent boots by the way, and so far they are holding up well..
Cheers

I have gotten to a point where I need to alter my boots selection since despite fairly decent longevity from what is expensive to me Wolverine or Brahma, or whatever Walmart was selling in my size, I am now finding that due to my aching back, just typing my boots nearly takes my breath away. It looks like my next boots will be step into type. Last year I went to buy some Logger boots off Amazon, good quality well known brand, only when I got them, the area you jam your foot thru was too narrow for me to even get my foot into the foot part. And these were supposed to be the WIDE size. Sent em back. Pretty sure they were Carolina's. I am sure they were good for someone else with less puffy feet/ankles, calves.

I go to the local Red Wing shop, and have to get the special insoles for an additional $50.- on top of my boot purchase. There is no "off the rack" that will work for my feet. Even with the special high arch insoles, it hurts to be on my feet for extended periods of time.

I understand this, Big John.

I have a logger friend in Montana. He has 2 majorly injured feet from a logging accident that crushed and nearly severed his feet off. He now has to have his boots custom made.
