Back in 2000 I bought a nice ES 335 that was supposed to look like that. In the seller's pics it did.
When I got it, one had to look at certain angles to see the nice grains. He did not object to issue me a refund,,,,,,,,,,,, also for the pencil point sized ding right in the face of the guitar he never mentioned.

I'm kinda lost by a lot of these comments relating to 'GAS' because I'm not affected by it. I have a couple of decent, reliable guitars that work for me and I just tend to stick with them. I never go to GC very often, except maybe for strings and I am always busy playing, so I don't have a lot of downtime to go guitar shopping.

When I needed new work boots I was able to order 3 pairs from different makers--- try them in my home -- for (I think it was 3 days) and then RETURN the ones I didnt want at NO CHARGE --- I liked that so much I bought a Pair of Red Wing Irish Setters and a month later bought a SECOND "back up" pair which are in my closet "IF" or when the first pair wear out !
( TO BE CLEAR-- I ahd a pair of Irish setters I LOVED for WAY over 10 years wore them slap OUT including being resoled....but when I went to buy more THEY DISCONTINUED THAT PARTICULAR MODEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the FRIGGIN HORROR!!!!!!!!
