Gimmie A Break Gibson

What I hate is the current round of reissues are all pre beat to hell. Even if it is just the hardware? Why? Can't they make a 1960 reissue in new condition for me to slowly mark up from lovkng it jnstead of pre destroying it?
Then charge 3x more.
Ridiculous.

They still offer all of the reissues glossy new as well at their regular price points. Gibson just added the Murphy aged line. I would never ever do that. Fender started doing the pre aged thing years ago and charging huge money for a guitar with the paint worn off. I don't get the attraction.

*I did just order a set of antiquity humbuckers from SD for my 2001 Classic. The nickel hardware is all getting dull and cloudy, so shiny nickel pickups look stupid.

All I can find for the reissues are VOS. Pickups all scummy. Not the Murphy stuff, the regular Custom shop.

Well, when I was checking a couple weeks ago we were talking Made to Measure, which they offer all of the main reissues in, so that way you can get shiny and new. Of course with that you are talking extra money as well.

Jethro, whatchu mean "ALL Scummy?"

Like splooge yuck dna type scummy?

Wore out, dull, scratched, pre rusted.

Oh the Made to Order. I just mean standard custom shop 1960 reissue.
Nothing on their website

I know good wood is getting near impossible to find now days. A friend got one of the true historic LPS I played it on stage it was a dead Donkey
My 1965 SG Standard just killed it. My 2002 1960 RO took 18 years to open up it sounds like the real thing now. I felt bad for my friend what do you think
feels nice I said. And when I got the RO the pickups sounded like mud had JM Rolph make me pickups 1000% improvement.

First time I saw a Relic CS Strat in a GC (didn’t know about them when they first came out) I asked the sales guy if this was heavily discounted since it’s all beat to sh#t. He was dude, thats a brand new guitar. I laughed so hard I almost pee-ed, and said, “Fender expects people to pay more for a guitar like that?”.

I think I reacted the same way the first time.
Try selling and AM Std Strat or ES 335 all beat up ( gently of course). I bet you won't get 1/3 what it cost new and shiny, or for one of those pre beat up ones.
