Gibson with Fender strap Mick Jagger fail

Really? Not kidding Norm?

John Lydon is Johnny Rotten - Sex Pistols.

He had a band called Public Image Limited (P.I.L.) later on in the '80's and I was just commenting that this Jagger clip sounds kinda similar to them.

I'm definitely no purist. Don't give a steamed rats ass about Jagger, and only passing interest in P.I.L., just commenting that it sounds like them.
Heck, I didn’t know who Johnny Rotten was either. Only time I heard that name was in a Neil Young song.

Here's a strap scenario for you guys. Since I like my guitars to all have strap buttons and all my straps to have strap locks to go with each. Somewhere in the years gone by, there have been both topics about preferred straps, preferred strap locks, and even our favorite picks and strings. I have always owned both Gibsons and Fender guitars and now I've added a PRS, Washburn and now a Jackson. Well, here is what I decided a couple years ago since I knew that most Fender guitars came with a strap button that automatically fit the Schaller type strap locks. So, for my 2 Strats, Tele, and 2 P basses, I bought a strap for each, and installed Schaller Strap locks on them.

Then, for my Gibsons, I bought a dedicated strap for each of them and outfitted the guitars and straps with Dunlop Strap locks. This way, if for some reason, I was out and playing a gig and somehow my strap for a particular Gib or Fender guitar was missing from the case, I could always go to any of my other Gib cases I brought along as backup guitar and know that strap would work on the Gib without it's strap, and likewise the Fenders.

As for my newest guitars that I do not have Strap locks on so far, I have a couple straps that just have the standard holes that can slip onto any type strap button such as what is on my Jackson, Washburn, ES 135, and PRS. One such Strap is one of those super thick leather ones where the holes are not only stiff, but also thick to fit onto the strap buttons. I primarily use this strap for my ES 135 which I generally play seated. If the strap pops off, the guitar will not get damaged. My other lockless strap goes on my Acoustic, my PRS, and Smitty's old strap came with and goes with his Washburn I got from him. Sometimes I use the Grolsch rubber washers on these straps. They do the job.

I have Schaller Strap locks on all of my guitars except my SG Standard. With the strap button on the heel of the neck and the Schallers being long and somewhat pointy, I would always end up with a bruised sore spot if I played for any length of time.

All the "strap lock" I'll ever need:

For me... wearing a strap with big apparent brand logos or
band names on it says "starter pack" even if they are paying you to advertise for them. A fender strap can carry a Gibson. I think he did it intentionally to stir things up. Not much different than putting a Gibson through a fender amp. Is the resulting tone Fender? Or Gibson?

but it’s guna sound like a Fibson :)

Norm,
There is no need to justify liking or not liking certain music. Everyone has their own thing and that is perfectly fine.
I, for instance, do not like The Doors. I don’t care what you say, I just don’t. Never have.

Now back to the thread.

I thought it was funny to see the Fender strap and SG!
There are many bands/artists I don't like, and many that I do. Not everyone likes everything. Nothing wrong with that, it's called being human.

But seriously, you don't like THE DOORS? What the heck is wrong with you man? :pound-hand:

I love The Doors. LA Woman is a fav around here.

What I hate, and I mean I absolutely hate it, is vertical videos. Rotate the damn phone, I consider it to be sacrilege.

Now there is a reason for that, and it takes time to convert

it’s all about YouTube shorts promotion on the short platform which is competitive with TikTock

usually I would just get a few views. Maybe 100 or so but on shorts it goes good 500+ is normal. This one not so good lol but can’t win em all

The whole idea is it’s best viewed on a cell phone
