Those of you who have been on here since the beginning are familiar with my 2006 Coral Pink SG Junior. Well I got it back today with a new pickguard, which was the one thing I have been wanting to change on it since I changed the tuners back in 2018.

Steve Opitz cut me a new one in fresh one-ply white pickguard material, replacing the original which had yellowed a great deal and had redundant pickup height adjustment screw holes since it was converted to a direct screw mounting back in 2014 when the Bare Knuckle Stockholm soapbar was installed. Wiring harness is 500K CTS pots, Russian PETP 0.033uF poly cap, Switchcraft jack, made by someone back in 2014. Nut is TUSQ XL. Tuners are Gotoh SG301 MGT and the bridge is a GraphTech ResoMax NW-2 wraptail with String Saver saddles. It is currently in standard tuning with a 9-46 EXL125 D'Addario string set.

I was the only bidder on the eBay auction, so I got it with the minimum bid of $700 plus postage.

I guess nobody wanted a pink Gibson

A year later I picked up my Worn Yellow 2007 Gibson SG Special for $800, opening bid again.

Gibson buyers are so conservative
